Happy Holi
The colorful festival of Holi is celebrated on Phalgun Purnima which comes in February end or early March. Holi festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of ‘good’ over ‘bad’. On this day, people hug and wish each other ‘Happy Holi’.
It is an ancient Hindu religious festival which has become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities
This year I was fortunate to take part in Feast for Holi which was held in ISKCON temple Boise ,Idaho, USA
I was cooking Gajar Ka Halwa around 60 pound for almost 300-400 people. It was an awesome experience to be a part of such great occassion in a place far away from your home. This was great experience to cook in a temple,we were like 7-8 ladies cooking and guided by Mataji of temple.
The kitchen where we cooked it is known as “Radhas Kitchen”,by this great cooking in temple I learned how to cook under great purity and maintain the holiness of the temple in the food because this food turned out to be the prasadam for all the people who are going to visit temple on this great occasion.
Beautiful Painting inside Temple
