INGREDIENTS


FOR SOOJI BALLS
1 cup rava / sooji / semolina, coarse
3 tsp oil
1 chili, finely chopped
1 inch ginger, finely chopped
2½ cup water
½ tsp salt
¼ cup coconut, grated

FOR TEMPERING
3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp chana dal
few curry leaves
1 dried red chili
¼ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp red chili powder
¼ tsp salt
2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
2 tsp lemon juice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Take a pan ,put oil and roast the sooji/rava.
  2. Again in other pan heat oil and saute  chili and ginger.
  3. Next pour in  water.
  4. also, add ½ tsp salt and ¼ cup coconut. mix well.
  5. get the water to a rapid boil.
  6. keeping the flame on low start adding roasted rava slowly, stirring continuously.
  7. cover and cook for 3 minutes or until the rava turns soft and fluffy.
  8. knead the dough for 5 minutes and prepare small balls.
  9. Get ready with the steamer and spary the oil and place the sooji balls.steam for 10 minutes.
  10. further in a pan put oil and add tempering ingredients.
  11. now add ¼ tsp turmeric, ¼ tsp chili powder and ¼ tsp salt.
  12. furthermore, add steamed rava balls and mix gently.
  13. also, add 2 tbsp coriander and 2 tsp lemon juice. mix well.
  14. finally, enjoy suji balls / rava balls with spicy chutney.
